[DFS] Set DFS Primary Server

[Scenario]

After replacing a DFS(Distributed File System) server, there have been issues that some files are not visible. It turned out that primary server was fasely set so that some files are not visible when sync is not completed. To remediate the issue, a primary server should be set so that any users even working via VPN can access to the primary server.

 

[Objectives]

Set primary server in DFS management

 

[Remediation]

- RDP related DFS server

 

- Run DFS management

 

 

- Select related DFS namespace

 

 

- In "Namespace Servers" tab, select server that should be set as primary server, right mouse click then go to "Property"

 

 

- In "Advanced" tab, check "Override referral ordering" then chose "First among all targets"
